Your Honors Showcase Senior ePortfolio
Now that you are nearing the end of your Honors College curriculum, enroll in HON H496 Honors Senior ePortfolio to reflect on the classes and experiences that have informed the person you have become as a soon-to-be-celebrated Honors College graduate.
Your Honors Senior ePortfolio provides you with space to reflect on where you were in H200, how you have grown, and what you have learned during your time in the Honors College.
Audiences
Who is your audience for this ePortfolio? Make sure you develop your final ePortfolio Showcase and retrospective with a specific audience in mind and indicate who that is in your reflection. Some examples include prospective employers, graduate or professional schools admissions committees, a prospective honors scholar, the Honors College dean or your Honors advisor, or even a benefactor or donor to the Honors College who has invested in your education. Think about communicating in such a way to convey the value-added of your honors learning to the specific audience you have chosen.

Some Pointers:
What does your audience already know? [No need to say what your readers already know, but it's imperative to fill-in-the-blanks with what readers/viewers might not know.]
-
What do you think they want to know? [Get specific down to granular details for your readers.]
-
What do they need to know to understand your ePortfolio artifacts? [Provide a context and overview as well as clarifying comments, footnotes, and other information-oriented accommodations.]

As you document your successes, clarify some of the specific, value-added components that were unique to your work with the Honors College at IUPUI.
Sections of the ePortfolio Showcase and Retrospective
-
Home/Landing Page with an Introduction and Content Overview
-
If you've been populating your ePortfolio every semester, you will already have several sections in your ePortfolio. Add section(s) or a Showcase for this final Honors ePortfolio and Retrospective in which you demonstrate your Honors learning over time.
-
Choose a minimum of 3 Artifacts (you may choose more) along with their contexts/explanations and reflections from your existing ePortfolio. These artifacts will form a "highlights reel" of your honors journey.
-
Create your Formal Retrospective
Creating your Final ePortfolio Showcase and Retrospective, the Process:
-
Look back to the “I AM” and “I WANT TO BECOME” statements from H200 along with your H200 Engaged Learning and Leadership plan.
-
Curate a minimum of THREE ARTIFACTS/experiences to include in your Final ePortfolio Showcase that best captures your journey as an Honors College student. Many students will choose to feature more than the minimum of three. The ARTIFACTS should be some combination of:
-
Courses, course projects, honors contracts
-
Engaged learning (such as study abroad, research, internships, community engagement, etc.)
-
Leadership and student involvement (such as student council, Jagathon, or other organizations, etc.)
-
Personal/Professional experiences outside of IUPUI that relate to your major or goals.
-
-
With each artifact/experience, include a CLEAR TITLE, DATE, and 15-30 word SHORT OVERVIEW that introduces your external audiences to your honors journey entry/artifact. Think strategically about framing each artifact for readers who are not familiar with IUPUI, the Honors College, you, or your research: orient your readers with helpful information.
-
With each artifact/experience in your ePortfolio, provide a more IN-DEPTH EXPLANATION of the project/research and contextualize each experience. Then, explain what you learned as well as commenting on some ways you've transferred your learning to apply new concepts into other settings.
-
This information will make up your Final ePortfolio Showcase. Now, let's turn to the Retrospective.

-
In a separate area, include your FORMAL RETROSPECTIVE reflecting on your entire honors journey. You can select any format/genre or mode for your retrospective including a traditional essay or multi-modal formats like digital storytelling, video, podcast, journey map, infographic, etc.
-
In your formal Retrospective, consider the following prompts:
-
Reflect on where you were in H200, how you have grown and changed, and what you have become during your time in the Honors College as represented in your chosen artifacts.
-
What do the artifacts you have included in your ePortfolio represent about your learning, growth, and perspective as an Honors College graduate? How do these connect with your favorite readings, theorists, community leaders, professors, and other experts you've studied/worked with during your honors experience?
-
How do the artifacts demonstrate that you have grown and changed in ways that align with the learning opportunities that the Honors College prioritizes such as:
-
Participating in at least four engaged learning experiences including research, international/cultural experiences, service, and experiential/applied learning
-
Developing strong skills as a communicator, problem solver, innovator, and community contributor
-
-
How will your learning set you up for success after graduation (career, grad school, something else)?
-
-
