Formal Retrospective 

In a separate area [a dedicated Tab, Page, or Showcase], include a FORMAL Retrospective reflecting on your entire honors journey. You can select any format/genre or mode for your retrospective including a traditional essay or multi-modal formats like digital storytelling, video, podcast, journey map, infographic, etc.

  • When reflecting, consider the following prompts:

    • How do the artifacts demonstrate that you have grown and changed in ways that align with the learning opportunities that the Honors College prioritizes such as:

    • With the above goals in mind, reflect on where you were in H200, how you have grown and changed, and what you have become during your time in the Honors College as represented by your chosen artifacts.​

    • What do the artifacts you have chosen tell the audience about your learning, growth, and perspective as an Honors College graduate? Use this as an opportunity to connect your honors learning with your favorite readings, theorists, community leaders, professors, or other big ideas.

    • How will this learning set you up for success after graduation (career, grad school, something else)?

How will your ePortfolio and Final Retrospective be evaluated? Consider this rubric a helpful guide. 

  1. Minimum number of artifacts with title, date, and appropriate summary and explanation/context.

  2. Audience identified. 

  3. Context and Purpose for Writing: Demonstrates a thorough understanding of context, audience, and purpose that is responsive to the assigned task and synthesizes all elements of the ePortfolio.

  4. Connections to Honors Experience: Meaningfully synthesizes connections among at least 3 artifacts and honors learning to deepen understanding of the honors experience and to broaden own points of view.

  5. Reflection: Reviews prior learning (past experiences inside and outside the classroom) in depth to reveal significantly changed perspectives about educational and life experiences, which provide foundation for expanded knowledge, growth, and maturity over time.

  6. Includes consideration of Honors College learning goals and how student has grown and changed over time.
